I try to use speaker phone as much as possible and keep the phone away from me. If I keep it on my ear too long, it gets hot near my ear. Glad to hear of some other suggestions to minimize the risk.

I have been using Dr. Bronner's soaps for my delicate clothing...looks like it's time to use it for the rest of the clothes too. Good bye toxic laundry!

Re: 7 Strategies for a Healthier and Happier Halloween

As a family, we try to maintain a balance of fun and health without compromising our faith. It is also our middle son's birthday. The boys love costumes and dressing up, so we encourage heroic fighters of evil and superhero type costumes. Some years we go to the church's harvest festival, other years we have gone trick or treating. Fortunately the boys have pretty quickly forgotten their candy and we have disposed of it in the past, altough at almost 8, our oldest may remember better this year, so we'll try strategy #4b or #5 this year. We also celebrate the feast of booths on the weekend to balacne it out and put our hearts in a mode of gratitude.

Re: Tasty, Simple, Middle Eastern Lentil Dish

You're welcome, so glad you enjoyed it!!!

Re: The Great Soccer Mom Sports-Drink Con

Thank you Renee! I was doubtful at the small ingredient list....was debating adding other things in--canned tomatoes and spices--but tasted it first and it was so lovely as is, I couldn't bring myself to change a thing. Didn't even need salt! We'll definitely be making this again. Thank you!

Re: Weight-loss Weapons #1 – Metabolism: What Is It and How Can I Change It?

Thank you Serena, I am glad this podcast clarified a few things for you, and hopefully others. WIth the exceptions of a few whole food supplements like fish oil and greens, or when someone is deficient in a specific nutrient, the whole supplement thing can become not only a big drain on the wallet, but a new source of bondage. God did not send His son to die for our sins and set us free from darkness, only to have us voluntarily put a different set of chains back on. Blessings, Mark

Re: Weight-loss Weapons #1 – Metabolism: What Is It and How Can I Change It?

Great podcast, Mark! Thank you for addressing the metabolism issue without involving pills, powders and potions. As a bonus, you succinctly dispelled the myth of metabolism waning with age. I'm looking forward to your upcoming episode. :-)

Re: Vitamin E Linked to Certain Cancers – What Should We Do?

Thank you BT!

Re: Tasty, Simple, Middle Eastern Lentil Dish

Kimberly, How did it turn out?

Re: Tasty, Simple, Middle Eastern Lentil Dish

Making this for dinner tonight! If he has an iron problem, he should see his physician or naturopath for specific, personal direction. On the other hand, if increasing iron levels is your goal, there more effective ways to increase it than flax, inlcuding red meat, organ meats, sardines, and using cast iron cookware. Hope that answers your question.

Re: Top 5 Healthy Foods on a Budget

I have a question, I read that Flaxseed can raise iron levels....I know that should be fine for women but in men, it can cause higher levels?

Re: Vitamin E Linked to Certain Cancers – What Should We Do?

great article with a very good perspective!

Re: Tasty, Simple, Middle Eastern Lentil Dish

Thank you Kristen, there'll be lots more simple, tasty recipes coming!
